As a Seattleite with access to some of the best roasts, brews and pours in the world, appreciating Sweden’s tradition of Fika is easy. I’m an early riser so I spend quite a bit of time listening to the BBC on my local NPR station KUOW. (That’s a link to the donation page: become a KUOW member or donate to your local station!)
The BBC’s recent story on the concept of Fika caught my (un-caffeinated) ear early one morning. A couple of snapshots of my own Finka at Zeitgeist, below. Not pictured: a tasty, appropriately sized chocolate croissant. The napkin was used to “un-butter/crumb” my paws and face before the second snapshot.
