the lion and the mouse

the moment before

At the end of January, when the first big snowfall started but before the Polar Vortex came to visit, I was excited to get out for a morning walk in the snow. I’d set up, hoping to catch the snow from the snowblower hanging in the air in front of the North Lion. What I caught was a face full of snow from a second snow-blower that I hadn’t noticed. Okay, Mr. Lion, you won this round.

As I made my way home, I recalled Aesop’s fable The Lion and The Mouse.
