“remains off”

A couple of years ago, the city of Chicago described Buckingham Fountain as “an Italian wedding cake meets a seahorse water scuffle” in its advertising for the city’s sights. I still chortle at the memory of seeing those ads on the bus shelters.

The fountain “remains off” as part of the Chicago Parks District response to the coronavirus, the seahorses appear to have retreated, it remains a beautiful sight.
