Interesting, to me, fact: Clinton Street in Chicago was named for DeWitt Clinton, the former Mayor of New York City and Governor of New York. He was largely responsible for the construction of the Erie Canal which led to the rapid settlement of Chicago and establishment of Chicago as a major shipping port.
