Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation

The Burnham Brothers’ Carbide and Carbon Building, 1929. One of the last buildings completed before the Great Depression and an example of the architectural advertising that comprised the buildings of the era on Michigan Avenue.

The Carbide and Carbon building as seen from Garland Ct., the “champange top” reflecting in the glass facade of 200 N. Michigan Avenue.
