Strong grid vs undulating waves

Looking up at the Pittsfield building through the canopy of the Washington / Wabash CTA station. The canopy of the new CTA station was designed as a counterpoint to the Wabash canyon and the city’s grid.

The first image was my view of the Pittsfield Building, 55 E. Washington, on a bright, sunny day; the second, is an illustration of what the view might be if the canopy was an undulating wave.
