old colony building

The Old Colony Building, Holabird and Roche, 1894 (407 S. Dearborn, Chicago).

A couple of snapshots from the walk back home after a day at Printer’s Row Lit Fest on a ridiculously hot and humid June day.

Blair Kamin’s article is a good overview of the 2014-15 restoration and a bit of the history of the building.

When it was built back in 1894, the Old Colony wasn’t just tall — it was about being tall.
